Pacific Neuropsychiatric Specialists (PNS) is actively seeking a Physician Assistant to join our growing organization. We are an outpatient private mental health group practice composed of Psychiatrists, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants and Therapists who are motivated to help our patients make positive changes in their lives.

Job Duties

About our Psychiatric Physician Assistant/ Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner:

The Physician Assistant will conduct psychiatric and detoxification evaluations, provide a dual diagnosis, prescribe medication for patients with mental health diagnosis, provide and prescribe detoxification protocols depending on substance use, and attend clinical team meetings once per week. The role also includes developing an appropriate, integrated healthcare treatment plan and providing effective management of patient care with proper evaluation and follow-up care.

What a Psychiatric PA Does at PNS:

  • Plan, organize and provide ongoing medication management and therapy for new and existing patients.

 

  • Assures that appropriate protocols for continuous improvement are established in mental health and addiction services and monitors ongoing compliance with quality assurance standards for mental health and substance use for both inpatient and outpatient care

 

  • Renewing and refilling medication to the best of their ability to avoid lapses in treatment.

 

  • Educate the patient in understanding the disease process with guidance regarding preventative practices necessary to manage acute and chronic conditions.

 

  • Work closely and maintain transparent communication with the treatment center, their clinical team, and the PNS team.
